Portfolio > Waimea

The paintings presented here are based on a trip to Waimea Canyon, also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. The canyon was created by the collapse of the volcano that first formed the island of Kauai’i, and later carved by steady erosion from lava and rainwater. It is a spectacular, geologically significant landscape that makes it unique among the Hawaiian Islands.
