Arctic Explorations 2025
In April 2025, I joined the Arctic Circle Residency in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. This was a 2-week sailing trip aboard the schooner, Rembrandt Van Rijn. 28 artists, guides and crew, lived and worked exploring the glaciers, fjords, birds, and animals on the west coast of the archipelago Svalbard in the high Arctic. We visited Ny-Alesund @ 79 degrees, the most remote inhabited scientific research center. During the residency, I painted plein air watercolors focusing on the frozen landscape.
